Hi, I’m Mike, founder of Schupak Financial Advisors. Financial planning and investing can be both intimidating and overwhelming. I want to be there to help you understand your financial picture, plan for the future and to help you avoid making costly mistakes that you may regret down the road.
I am passionate about what I do and truly care about the clients I work with. I’m patient, detail orientated and enjoy teaching others. Being left brain dominant, I have a love for probability and numbers. I enjoy reading the latest white papers on investing and appreciate the variety that comes with each financial planning engagement.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my wife. We are avid skiers and she has spread her travel bug to me over time. I strive to always eat healthy but burgers and pizza occasionally get in the way. I’m a big NY Jets fan, otherwise a casual sports fan. I’m always up for a game of chess, basketball or a round of golf.
Professional Background
I grew up in Rockland County (a NYC suburb) and traveled to the west coast to attend Arizona State University where I was a finance major and graduated cum laude. I then worked in a corporate environment at both start-up and fortune 500 companies for over 10 years in: financial planning & analysis, tax, insurance, accounting, debt financing and treasury. I lived in Scranton, PA (as “The Office” gained popularity) before moving to Chicago for a few years and eventually back to New York City. Ultimately, I decided to pursue my passion, financial planning, and pivot from helping corporations plan and improve their finances to serving individuals and families. I’ve earned a Certificate of Financial Planning from Boston University, completed the Financial Planning Association Residency Program and I am a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional.
